My name is Sharon Pierce, I am an artist, a resident of Quincy, a busy mother of beautiful twins, and a certified K-12 art teacher. I hold both a BFA and a Master in Art Education. My experience is in the Boston Public School system where I taught art for 15 years.
I am also a member of the Kingston Gallery in Boston, Massachusetts. There I have had numerous showings, both as an individual exhibition as well as group showings. I've worked with artists from around the region and have learned so much from them. You can see some of my work here: Kingston Art Gallery
When I decided to open "the art spot", my goal was to establish a community art studio in Quincy, MA that encourages families to get more involved in the arts. At the art spot, you will find a place where basic art skills and a variety of media are used and taught in an open-ended session that allows for individuals to explore their own creativity in a safe, healthy and encouraging environment.
the art spot is located on 111 Franklin Street in Quincy, MA. It is in a larger building now so that I may practice art and learn as I teach. In teaching art, I focus on the process rather than outcomes. When first starting out, our “mistakes” can be our biggest asset.
Please feel free to call or email any time, I would love the opportunity to answer your questions and talk with you about the art spot!
